Islam is One Path Not Many Paths
Muslim, the path that leads to Allah is one and not many. For this reason, Allah has instructed His servants to supplicate to Him that He guides them to His straight path. Islam is One Path
Allah says:
" اهْدِنَا الصِرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ- صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضالين "
"Guide us to the straight path. The path of whom You bestowed Your blessings upon. Not the path of those whom incurred Your wrath, nor those who went astray." [al-Fatihah 1:6-7]
Allah also says:
" فَإِمَّا يَأْنَكُم مِّني هُدًى فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ "
"Then if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows the guidance shall neither go astray nor fall into distress and misery." [Ta Ha 20:123]
Ibn Abbas (R) stated about this verse, "He will not go astray in the worldly life, and will not be miserable in the hereafter."
Also, due to Allah knowing that other paths would appear, He instructed His Messenger (S) to inform the people to follow His path alone, and not follow the other paths. Islam is One Paths
Allah said:
" فَاتَّبِعُوهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ ذَلِكُمْ وَسَنكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ-"
"And verily, this is my straight path so follow it, and do not follow the other paths, for they will separate you away from His path. This He has ordained for you that you may become from the pious." [Al-An'am 6:153]
The Messenger of Allah (S) drew with his hand a straight line in the earth and said, "This is the path of Allah". Then he drew (lines) on the right of it and its left and said, "These are the other paths. There is not a path from them except there is a devil calling to it." Then he recited the above verse (in Surah al-An'am). Islam is One Path
Ibn Abbas (R) said:
"Allah commanded the believers with clinging to the Jamaah (i.e. the group of the Muslims upon the truth), and He forbade them from dividing and separating. He also informed that those before them were only destroyed because of argumentation and disputing in the religion."
So with this it becomes clear that the path that leads to Allah is one path, not many. Also there are paths that the devil calls to that are in opposition to the path of Allah.
These are paths of misguidance and deviation that are not based upon Qur'an and Sunnah. The correct path that leads to Allah is by remaining upon the guidance that Allah sent down in the Qur'an and what the Prophet (S) came with in his Sumal, as understood by his companions.
